WITTENSTEIN High Integrity Systems
The WITTENSTEIN High Integrity Systems business division was launched in the UK in 2008 as part of the WITTENSTEIN Group. Its world-leading expertise in embedded software is based on ten years’ experience working with Industrial Control, Power, Medical and Aerospace applications.
High Integrity Systems was launched following the success of FreeRTOS, introduced in 2003, and it’s OPENRTOS® commercial licensing, introduced in 2006. In 2007 SAFERTOS® attained IEC61508 SIL3 certification from TÜV SÜD and was later validated to FDA510(k)/EN62304 Medical standards. It is now one of the best certified RTOS on the market… FreeRTOS was downloaded nearly 80,000 times in 2009 and was named by the EE Times Survey as the most popular embedded RTOS for new projects.
WITTENSTEIN Bristol was founded in 1999 to develop complex systems for the WITTENSTEIN Group based around the latter’s precision electric drive technology. The company’s developments include active force-feel control sticks for aircraft, medical devices and other safety related projects. The company continues these activities alongside the High Integrity Systems software business, under the name WITTENSTEIN aerospace & simulation limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of WITTENSTEIN AG .
